Slow Vinegar Co – Tomato Wine Vinegar
Reminiscent of my grandfather’s ‘glass house’ filled with slow ripening tomatoes. The initial aroma when I crept inside was over powering yet delicious. I could never understand why the ripening fruit, with splitting skins, bursting from the calyx, did not share the same intensity. This vinegar dispels any disappointment. It provokes memories of the past and reawakens the delicious tomato aroma, as well as offering a pleasing length of taste and a tickle on the tongue. Perfect!
Lisa says: we are so thrilled to discover this incredible vinegar, expertly crafted in Wiltshire, just across the border from our Dorset farmhouse.
Made from the very best, slow grown summer tomatoes. Drizzle over salad, soups and a strawberry fruit salad – yes really!
For a simple dressing; combine with a little Dijon mustard, Slow Vinegar Tomato Wine Vinegar. Add a teaspoon of honey. Mix together and then slowly add Basil infused oil or your favourite olive oil. Shake in a screw top jar. Season to taste. You will create a fabulous dressing for mozzarella, burrata or roasted tomato salad. Take a look at our extra large linen bowl covers. Ideal to protect your salad bowls for picnics and dining in the garden.
Crafted in Wiltshire, not far from the Dorset border and a staple in our farmhouse kitchen pantry.
Lisa says..
Absolutely divine, perfectly crafted wine vinegar infused with flavoursome summer tomatoes. A little goes a long way. Use for drizzling, marinades and dressing.
Andrew and Sarah of The Slow Vinegar Company gather from their farm, kitchen garden and hedgerows. The produce is used to produce wine which is then fermented to produce vinegar. A far cry from other ‘flavoured vinegars’ which are created using a base and then steeping fruit.
