Here in Dorset, gathering Ramsons has begun early this year.
Whether you whizz into a leek and potato soup, or combine with beaten eggs for a spring frittata, the verdant leaves are plentiful.
Perhaps you take a classic route and always grab a bunch of rocket, some parsley, and olive oil along with your favourite cheese to prepare vibrant dressing for a seasonal pasta dish.
There are ideas aplenty for these foraged spring greens, but it seems to us, that wild garlic is either loved or loathed.
What’s your opinion? 🌱🌱🌱
The radiant heat from an AGA cooker is perfect to bake a fatless sponge.
If you have recently inherited a preloved 2-oven AGA and planning to bake a Swiss Roll for the perfect Mothering Sunday tea, try using self raising flour rather than plain, for the classic Genoese sponge.
Slide the grid shelf on to the floor of the roasting oven and the plain, cold shelf over the sponge. Reduce the baking time by at least five minutes too.
This will give an even rise with a light crumb.
What’s your favourite filling?

We think Sunday’s were made for brunch.
Welsh cakes with a twist for the first day of March. A savoury version with leeks and crumbled Caerphilly with the first of the purple sprouting.
Wishing you a very happy St. David’s Day
