Jute is a fibre that is produced from Corchorus which makes this garden twine 100% bio-degradable. It is also suitable for recycling and harvested from renewable sources.
Corchorus produces one of the strongest natural fibres and has a golden silky shine. The production of jute gained popularity during the Industrial Revolution in Dundee, Scotland.
Nutscene twines are wound in Angus, Scotland still using the same machinery developed for the task in 1922.
